What's our process?
1. Introduction
Through phone or video call we get to know each other to see if we are the right ‘fit’ for each other. I think it is very important that we get along so that there is a good working relationship.
2. Questionnaire
This is followed by an extensive questionnaire. This way I gain insight into the company: the mission, vision, positioning, usp (unique selling proposition), etc.
I also ask about the preferences of the logo design. Through specific questions and examples I get an idea of what kind of logo is desired.
3. Marketing Strategy
If desired, we have another meeting to discuss the questionnaire. We also go through the strategy so that the new logo will fit in perfectly.
4. Business research
The next step is to research what logos competitors and industry leaders have.
From other logos in your industry, we can deduce:
– what logo techniques work for your industry
– what logo techniques are being ignored which can inspire ways to stand out
– what kind of customers dominate your industry (or what customers do your rivals prefer to target)
5. Word association
Something I like to do to spark my creativity is word association. In this exercise, I simply write down any word that comes to mind when I think of the brand. This can literally be anything. For me, this exercise is essential to get inspiration before I start sketching.
6. Designing
Based on the questionnaire, our conversations, my business research and word associations, I begin to sketch. This is how I get all the ideas out of my head, both the good and the bad concepts. I digitize the best concepts where the logos really start to take shape.
Through my design software Adobe Illustrator, I can refine the logo design and begin to play with font and color. Again, I make the decisions based on all the information gathered.
7. Feedback
I advise my clients to spend at least a few days going over the first drafts. Discuss the drafts with trusted people. Even if there are mixed opinions, they are valuable and give me direction that will allow me to improve whatever is needed.
8. Final logo files
Now that the final logo is ready, it’s time to submit your final files! Just let me know what design files you need. But in general, I supply the following files: eps, ai, jpeg, png, pdf and svg format
Interested in working together?
Let’s get to know each other in a free meeting. That way we can see if we are a match for each other.
Do you have any questions about logo design?
Then we start all over. If you hate the first version, I will completely restart. The questionnaire at the start of the project usually gives me an idea of the look you want to go for. So it's not often that customers feel like the designs are going in the wrong direction ... but no one is perfect. When something goes wrong, I always make sure it goes well.
To you of course! Some graphic designers retain some rights so that you as a company are obliged to continue to work with them in the future. This is not the case with me; all rights belong to you, including copyright.
You can then choose whether you want to continue working with me in the future or not.
However, I would like to reserve the right to use the designs in my portfolio.
If there is a launch date or campaign, please let me know so I can take this in account.
Payments can be made by bank transfer.
After getting to know and discussing the project, I will send you the quotation and contract. A 50% deposit is required at the time of project booking along with the signed contract. When the project is completed, the remaining 50% will be paid.
If a prepayment is not possible for some reason, this can be discussed.
When everything is perfect and finished, down to the last detail, I will send you all your logo versions via WeTransfer.
No problem at all.
When the first set of logo designs are presented to you, I will explain why I made which design decision. At this point you have the opportunity to provide feedback and request changes if necessary.
You can request as many changes as you want, but a maximum of 4 revision rounds are included (depends on the package type). In the unlikely event that further revisions are required, they will be charged €40 per hour and added to the final invoice.
This takes a few weeks for a logo design. You will receive a few revision rounds where you can pass on comments or adjustments about the designed concept. This can be about font, color, design, size, shape and more. The faster this communication takes place, the faster the final design is ready for use.
Well, that's a good question. This is of course completely your choice. I wouldn't like to work either with someone who doesn't think I'm a good 'fit'.
I distinguish myself from other designers through my experience and diploma in marketing. Branding is essential to the success of a company. I don't just design something because it is 'pretty'. Attractiveness is obviously important, but I'm looking at the bigger picture. Who are your ideal customers and what attracts them? The designs should attract your ideal customer (the customers who bring you the most profit). There is a story behind the company and it reflects your business.
Your company logo is often the first point of contact with potential customers. There is no second chance to make a first impression. That is why the communication material must convey the correct image. A design firm or graphic designer will design marketing materials that help make the right impression on potential customers. By making your own logo, you run the risk of appearing amateurish, which means losing potential customers.
Like many other graphic designers, I am a big fan of the Adobe package (Creative Cloud). I work with Illustrator for the logos, patterns, icons and other graphics in vector format. I use Photoshop and Dimensions for packaging design and mock-ups to present the designs. InDesign for flyers, brochures, posters and others. I use Adobe XD and Dreamweaver for web design. I design Graphic Motion in After Effects and edit promo videos in Premiere Pro.
It happens that a customer needs a design with a very tight deadline, sometimes even by the next day.
I am flexible and can therefore usually take on urgent projects depending on the size of the project and how full my schedule is. However, a surcharge may be possible for these projects.
